Shikuramen, "Ato wa no to nare yama to nare" { kanji / romaji / translation }

Artist: シクラメン (Shikuramen)
Song Title: あとは野となれ山となれ (Ato wa no to nare yama to nare; After Me, May It All Become Fields and Mountains***)
Album: Surume 4
Track Number: 5
Released: 2016
Lyrics By: DEppa

Requested by chrisk69. (***Note: The song title is a Japanese proverb; it basically means "I don't care what comes next" or "the future will take care of itself." I decided to translate the title a bit more literally, but any of these work. ^_^)

Kanji Romaji English Translation

I’m jolted on the crowded train since morning,
as my feet get stepped on.
Phew, I finally arrive at work,
make some coffee, and break time comes.
Without a moment to take a breath, the phone rings;
a rude customer is yelling.
I frantically talk to them, then rush to the site;
it’s the 6th week without a break.

It’s become unbearable!
Sometimes I wanna quit it all, but
it’s for my family, for those I love,
for my own future.
I complain sometimes,
but I try my best to not break and let it corrupt me.
I see you, and I understand;
you are supporting me!

My alarm is set every morning for half past 5.
From Monday to Saturday, I face the waves of “full sets of demons.”
I work 15-hour days, carrying iron pipes,
working while drenched in sweat.
When I return home, the real demons come out.
You ask, “Please help with the chores a little.”
I can’t bear it! I can’t bear it! It doesn’t matter!
I have a secret stash of 30,000 yen saved!

It’s become unbearable!
Sometimes I wanna quit it all, but
it’s for my family, for those I love,
for my own future.
I complain sometimes,
but I try my best to not break and let it corrupt me.
I see you, and I understand;
you are supporting me!

Students, too, try your best!
Even housewives, try your best!
Even company employees, even part-timers,
even craftsmen, try your best!
Each field is different,
but it’s a struggle every day in your own place.
I will try my best! You try your best!
Let’s all try our best together!

It’s become unbearable!
Sometimes I wanna quit it all, but
it’s for my family, for those I love,
for my own future.
I complain sometimes,
but I try my best to not break and let it corrupt me.
I see you, and I understand;
you are supporting me!
